Things I learned today…

My soul rejoices when I walk into the salon, and I happen to have been scheduled on the same day as this certain little, old lady with her friend. She has ZERO filter and is a riot, and the friend tries but can’t reason with her. They are hilarious.

Discrimination against ANY race by another race is morally disgusting.  That’s the truth and can’t be refuted. Period. The end.

If we’re on a busy street, and you start slowing down WAY before you need to turn left thus impeding the fast lane, then finally put on your turn signal, carefully easing ever so slowly into the turn lane at the speed of a sloth, further delaying everyone behind you, we should get to ram you just because and keep going.

Is “good” what everybody agrees is good, or is “good” what’s actually good, plain and simple? You follow that? I don’t ever think I want to be – or want my kids to be – what everybody agrees is good. What everybody thinks is good is to be questioned at the very least.

I’ll tell you this…when you go through the mental battle of trying to take care of yourself more, it feels difficult and selfish. It’s not easy. I didn’t know those feelings would come.

Why does wanting things for yourself feel selfish? It shouldn’t. My gosh, we get so programmed, influenced, and jaded somehow, don’t we?

The book I’m reading has been beautiful and stirring, and I don’t want to do anything but finish it.

My hair is blonde (it’s weird to see in the mirror) and probably the longest it’s been since third grade.

That’s all. We learn every day, don’t we?
