I like avocado ok, I guess. I like toast. But why is avocado toast a thing?
You’re telling me a few “cool” people ordered avocado toast, and everybody else had to jump on that bandwagon? Besides the “cool” people, do you think the people who started eating it, too, actually like it or just choke it down and smile while they post their avacado toast on Instagram so as to look trendy? Do normal people actually make avocado toast at home? Naw.

Did coffee shops start seeing “cool” people lolling about eating avocado toast and say, “Oh, crap, we gotta figure out how to make this amazingness and get it on the menu quick!”? I mean, I’m 45, and ain’t no restaurant served avacado toast my whole life until the last year or two.
And I live in the South. We barely know that avocado is the key ingredient in guacamole. We put grape jelly on toast…made with white bread (some “cool” people use wheat)…with a little butter…made in an oven not a toaster…and not cut in little triangles (that’s fancy).
Carrot toast is not a thing. Apple toast isn’t even a thing. Who decides what’s a thing? Let’s get a few “cool” people to start asking for sweet potato toast and see what happens.
