Things I learned today…

I’m reading a book (“The Psychology of Money”), and I don’t really want to stop reading it. It’s already so interesting. When I can, I’ll post a few excerpts from it. It’s pretty eye-opening.

This is day 3 without carbs. I’m ok. Everyone else is ok.

Are you familiar with the concept of “Emotional Intelligence” and what that means. Harvard Health online defines it as “the ability to identify and regulate our own emotions, to recognize the emotions of other people and feel empathy toward them, and to use these abilities to communicate effectively and build healthy, productive relationships with other”. There are 4 keys to Emotional Intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness, conflict management skills.

So apparently Emotional Intelligence is not inherent in any of us, necessarily, but can be cultivated. I find this fascinating and oh so necessary.

When someone posts something about politics, religious beliefs, or personal choices concerning their personal health, please keep scrolling. I did it just this morning about some of the dumbest actual shit I have ever heard in all my days. It was easy. Just *boop boop* scrolled right on by. You want to challenge them on it? Call them. Send a message. Ask for help understanding. Offer your perspective. That’s it. You know good and well the personality and general belief system of the person you’re “friends” with on Facebook. None of their posts should be a surprise at all…or offensive to you. Why in the world (except to wreak havoc, embarrass them, or embarrass yourself) would you engage on Facebook? You KNOW that’s their belief system. Scroll. Just scroll, scroll, scroll, Baby! And just know.

I had a little girl (2, turning 3 in a few weeks) that she couldn’t put on the little footlet, because she was afraid it would burn. Her mom was like….WHAT?! Too funny. She was so sharp and amazing. When Keith meets her, he will eat her up!

There was not enough coffee today to meet my demands.

Y’all, there is so much love and joy that comes through my studio door. It felt good all day today.

That’s all. We learn every day, don’t we?
