Things I learned today…

Starting the day off with a cup of coffee and about 16 of my closest dance studio owner friends and mentors in an inspiring, encouraging, super informative meeting was THE BEST!

It takes some wrangling, cajoling, manipulating, bribing, and ordering them sometimes, but when the children clean up after dinner and wash the dishes, life is pretty amazing.

These points I heard today made an impression…

~ My weaknesses are somebody else’s strengths. (THIS is why I always say that if you’re the smartest person in the room, you’re in the wrong room.)

~ What you allow will continue. (THIS is something I have to remind myself of all the time.)

~ Sometimes I need to stop listening to podcasts, reading self-improvement books, and following coaches and just listen to myself. (THIS helped me remember that I am already knowledgeable, experienced, full of wisdom, and creative…and I can trust myself.)

Pimento cheese is not all made the same. I always open it and taste cautiously. It’s either about to be yummy or suck.

Y’all, Amanda ordered groceries today! I pick them up in the morning! Glory!

Brady got a new ukulele this afternoon, and she was over the moon about it.

Then we went to Goodwill to shop for some trailer trash clothes (that’s another story for another time), and we laughed at one of our finds so hard we were actually on the floor in tears in the middle of the store. I know, gross. But it was that awesome.

If I may be so bold…and you know I may…I sometimes wonder if some children I see brush their teeth. Surely parents make their kids brush their teeth and ensure they learn to do it at least adequately. Or if they’re little kids, put ’em in a headlock and scrub those crusty teeth for them. If y’all see my kids, and it looks like their teeth are wearing little sweaters, call me! (Well, text me, because I’m an introvert.) I’ll handle it!

That’s all. We learn every day, don’t we?
