I’m not going to tell you that I was up more than usual today, and I’m weak and tired as ever now. There are 21 days until brain surgery, and I can’t comprehend being bound to a chair every day until then. Yes, my right leg is a wiggly, wonky, Spongebob, stanky leg. I just can’t stand not actively being a wife and a mother.
I’m not going to tell you that Keith has salmonella, and is WAY sick. Nope, you don’t need to hear that he’s shivering and feverish with plenty of belly grumbles and an occasional vom. He got it from bad mayo in the back of our fridge.
I’m also not going to tell you that it’s going to snow (with ice!) this Friday, and we had to cancel the trip we were planning to my parents’ house to be there when my dad gets ordained as an Elder in their church Sunday. I wasn’t sure how I was going to physically make it anyway, but the weather forecast sealed the deal.
And, finally, I’m not going to tell you that our big dog ate the two pizza sandwiches that I had saved on the counter for Blake. I hobbled into the kitchen earlier tonight on my gimpy leg (on a walker!) and stood there shaking to make them, but, hey, the dog ate them when I limped off the the bathroom.
I don’t know who broke a mirror or walked under a ladder, but I plan to whip their butt if I find out. This is some kind of era and clearly one full of lessons. (Did somebody pray for patience, because I’ll whip their butt, too.) I just need everybody to go sit down and not touch anything.
And while we are waiting around for the next calamity du jour, I’m going to make a vision board of all my goals for 2025. Let’s talk about that tomorrow.
Oh, and today, I posted John Travolta’s disco solo from Saturday Night Fever, and only a handful of you hit the LIKE button on Facebook. That’s a shame. Y’all need to loosen up. You never know when brain tumors may happen, your husband will get poisoned by mayonnaise from your own fridge, snow will shut you down, or your dog will eat your supper.
