Things I Learned Today / 6/19/24

Today I learned how to make bananas foster, as promised. We had it with vanilla bean ice cream. It was divine!

I learned today that my blog’s website needed work. I still think it needs work (as in, programming, SEO, plug-ins, and such-type work), but it gets over my head. The learning curve is real, and I feel like the newbie that I am. *sigh*

Yes, I think you can teach an old dog new tricks. Patience, though? This pup ain’t real patient…but she’s trying.

I am learning that if you are compassionate instead of judgmental, life is more fun. My son, for instance, bought a beater car for $1,000. It has sat in our driveway for an eternity while he got it registered and tagged. Tonight, he put his tag on, aired up the tires, and jumped it off to go run it around the block. He made it to neighborhood entrance when it died. Could I have wagged my finger about a million things? Yes! Did I? No way! It was fun. I giggled…he did not…I doodled down to him in my own car…he hooked up the jumpers…we waited. There were lightning bugs and people who stopped to ask if we were ok. It was a good time, an adventure even, at 9:00 pm.

Yes, we got the car home.

As I am burned completely out on Crystal Lite and grape-flavored water mix, I order some pina colada water mix off Amazon (no alcohol, just flavor). It is so tasty! I drink straight-up water mostly, but this is good when you’re feeling water logged and need something different.

I heard you shouldn’t put your Stanley in the dishwasher. Is this true?

Yikes on bikes, is it AH-MAZING to have a kid who drives and WANTS to make grocery runs or what? Um, yes! I know her running errands for me won’t last, so I’m sucking it up while I can. Glory!

That is all. We learn every day, don’t we?
