Following a few conversations about our safety in and around Memphis, we opted for a Friday Adventure right here close by full of giggles and retail therapy!
We got our fill at Wayback Burgers, and if you haven’t been there yet, run (and I mean, do not walk) and try it. Brady had the Cheeeeesy Burger, and I had the Impossible Burger. I don’t eat meat, right, so the fact that they have a plant-based burger is awesome.
Then – and because we deserve it, of course – we went to Five Below and Target right there near the burger joint for fun shopping and the purchase of many unnecessary things.
We picked up some pretty fall decor (I’ll show you later!), and she found some comfy fall clothes (for sweatah weathah!). And Y’all, I love the seasonal Meyer’s soaps and cleaners, and they had Acorn Spice!
Then we headed off to get her a new phone, because her old one was just about kaput. It was quick and painless at the AT&T store, for which we were grateful considering it’s usually time consuming and feels as if we’re being held hostage.
Meh, I know burgers and Target doesn’t sound terribly adventurous, but it was truly a great day out together. We actually don’t get to go shopping in an actual store much and “ooh” and “ahh” over all the things on every, single shelf, so it was fun for us.
I’m happy we didn’t give up on our time together or chuck it in the name of safety. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about not getting jacked in Memphis (it’s out of control and especially dangerous right now), but I don’t care to live in fear and hide under the bed. We figured out how to stay close to home and still enjoy our time. It worked out great today.
(And those are Brady’s Mac & Cheese bites in the picture! Fried comfort food goodness!)
