We can be different if you’re nice. If you’re nice, we can be friends. If we are friends, you can expect my loyalty, grace, and support.
We can be different if you’re not nice. If you’re not nice, we can’t be friends. If we are not friends, you can (oddly) still expect my loyalty, grace, and support.

Really?
Yep. I think having differences is ok. Sometimes it’s even a blessing. I will always be nice. I can’t control you, but I can control me. And that’s what I choose.
Some differences, for instance differences in ideology, certain philosophies, and human decency, are beyond my comprehension. I won’t waiver in my convictions about a number of things. You won’t convince me, and I won’t convince you. I’ll even stand strong for or against some things. You won’t agree, and you’ll fight for or against your thing.
And that’s ok.
I love the “seek first to understand then to be understood” mentality, and I’ll do my best. Otherwise, I’ll be nice. And you can expect my loyalty, grace, and support. We can even be friends…if you’re nice back.
