Things I Learned Today / 6/15/24

Today I learned that if you put leftovers in ziploc bags, it’s easier just to put them in the fridge then toss them days later. Who wants save leftovers only to eventually open a yucky, fuzzy tupperware surprise, empty it, then wash it?

I ordered seedless watermelons. Got watermelons with seeds.

I was stricken with the flu on vacation last week. Keith got it some days later. We are a lot better, but this cough is no joke. And you can still hear the rattles in our chests. At least Keith doesn’t sound like Isaac Hayes anymore. (Not that Isaac Hayes doesn’t sound good. I mean, he’s a bad mutha…shut yo mouth.)

I have not liked cooking…like AT ALL…but I actually think it was the process of cooking I didn’t like. I didn’t have time. I didn’t want to stand in the kitchen after working, between working, before working. Now, I LOVE cooking, and I want to love everybody with food.

The blueberry biscuits with sweet lemon glaze I made this morning were elite.

Flies in the house drive me nuts.

As you heal, as you awaken, there are things you want less – soda, coffee, drinking, TV, some people. It’s interesting. And speaking of people, you’ll find that the healed you does not want to be around the unhealed. Those people matched perfectly with the unhealed you, but that’s not you anymore. Ya dig?

I have learned that I do not want to be out in the heat. Call me a pansy, whatever…I don’t like it. I sweat like a dog, and it’s gross. I have no desire to get all cleaned up and look cute just to turn into a swamp monster before I can back the car down the driveway. And yes, it happens that quick.

If you see 346 boxes from Amazon on my porch tomorrow, keep in mind that it cost $0 to mind your business. I got a whole bunch of home organization stuff coming, because I’m about to clean out the pantry, some cabinets, and some drawers.

That is all. We learn every day, don’t we?
