This picture was taken December 2, 2024, at the Hernando Christmas Parade. It was such a fun night!
She didn’t know it at the time, but…
In 9 days, she would have a weird, little seizure standing at the sink in her bathroom.
In 15 days, she would have 6-8 focal seizures a day.
In 21 days, she’d have an MRI and learn she had 2 “benign” brain tumors, one of which needed to go.
In 30 days, she would need a walker.
In 45 days, she would lose her balance, the use of her right leg, and her ability to write.
In 60 days, she would be in surgery for a full on craniotomy to remove what turned out to be a mandarin-sized Glioblastoma, the most aggressive terminal brain cancer.
If you ever needed a lesson in “life happens fast”, learn from this.
Make your life count.
Do all the things with purpose.
Be deliberate with your choices.
And, Y’all, create joy for yourself.
Romanticize your life in small ways.
Love big. Take care of yourself. Set boundaries. Unlearn. Say no.
Grow. Cultivate your own knowledge. Eat good food. See places.
Wear the sequins and the statement earrings. Use the good china. Burn the candle.
I love y’all.
