Y’all.

My husband, Keith, loaded the dishwasher yesterday with the exception of a single mug he left out on the counter.

Last night, we were all in the kitchen eating dinner, and he looked at my daughter and me with great concern and said, “Is this something we are keeping? What do I need to do with it?”

He pointed to that mug, and we all looked quizzically. Do with what?

Wait…

“Keith, that’s a tag. It’s the label on my tea bag.”

One of them reached and lifted that cup up to the light, turned it, looked inside.

Yep, my spent Tea Forte teabag looked like a plant! God bless it. He was trying not to throw away or destroy something he thought we were growing. He knows we are always fiddling with something!

This is where middle age, bifocals, and ADHD kids and a wife with a million interests and little projects going at once get you…taking care of imaginary plants in mugs.

From now on, I’ll giggle every time I propagate a cup of tea.
