Things I Learned Today

I had high hopes for today, and it worked out pretty well. Not too bad.

I told my senior kids tonight about playing records “in the old days”. They were fascinated. I got to show them a 45 on the Motown label.

Oh, and we had a lengthy conversation about Soul Train. Goooood stuff.

See, in the world right now, they want you to believe every other person is racist, and we are all out to get each other. Instead of jumping on that nonsense bandwagon, you could be making efforts to teach kids about Motown, the Civil Rights movement, the impact music had on the era, and how we can learn from it and never go back there again. We can appreciate each other, admire pure artistry, and celebrate real people. Maybe if the news wasn’t so busy stirring the pot, they could focus on stuff like that, and we could come together.

Anywho…the vibe in my studio is like no other, and I love it.

On that note, I’m out for the evening. I’m going to bed to think about what impact we can have on the world tomorrow. And I’ll pray prayers of tremendous gratitude for giving me the opportunity.

That’s all. We learn every day, don’t we?
