Things I learned today…

Today, I realized I am tired. I don’t often admit or want to face it, but I’ll do that now. I am tired. I need quality, sustained rest free from physical activity, decision making, problem solving, and expectations. There. I said it.

I changed the sheets this morning, and I love, love, love getting in a made bed with fresh sheets.

I do best with people who are focused, take initiative, and work hard independently. I appreciate this, and I admire it in people.

If you are a recovering people pleaser, and you think that’s hard, imagine how weird that must seem to the people you were always trying to please.

The amount of salad dressing on a salad must be perfect. Not enough? Underdressed. Too much? Overdressed. It’s got to be juuuuuuust right.

Sometimes I think it would be funny to walk through the grocery store in tap shoes just to observe the reactions of people. Not tapping; just walking.

That reminds me, the girl checking us out at the Mexican place the other day was astonished to hear we danced and said she had never met anybody before who knew how to tap.

When your kids clean their rooms without being asked, something’s up. Keep tabs.

Karaoke is an interesting concept. If you’re good, you’re good. If you’re not, know that I’m having an internal debate about whether to complement the balls it must have taken for you to put it all out there OR acknowledge in disgust that the dreadful noise you’re making is causing my eyeballs to melt out of my head and run down my cheeks. It’s a toss up.

That’s all. We learn every day, don’t we?
