Things I learned today…

I must be going through something mentally or physically, because my sleep is off.

When I go into the kitchen in the morning, and Keith has made my coffee, my heart skips a beat. Every. Time.

Did you know that fear holds more people back from doing what they want to do than anything? More than money. More than skill level.

If you’re worried about what others are going to think…Let. That. Go. People are going to think something no matter what you do. Hell, they’re thinking something about you right now. You stay in your lane, focus on what you want, and freaking do it. And completely block out worries of what anyone thinks (or what they actually have the jewels to tell you they think) unless it’s that you’re super amazing and fabulous. It’s THOSE people you’re going to listen to and surround yourself with. Everyone else can kick rocks.

Lastly, about that, let me add this: The more confident and secure you are in your decision making, the less likely it will matter to you what people think. Own it, and go for it.

Within the last few days, I’ve had a very interesting cross section of people register for dance, and I love it. Different ethnicities, backgrounds, religions. So cool.

I really need Samuel L. Jackson standing over me and demanding I work out.

I so value having someone challenge my thoughts and ask me the hard questions. Get this in your life. You have to be brave.

Six years ago, on August 5th, we knew we would be heading to the hospital for Keith’s cancer surgery in a few days. But we only knew a fraction of the things we know now…about ourselves, the human body, our marriage, our faith, our friends…a fraction. It’s fascinating to look back and think of the people we were and how we had no idea what was coming.

Ignorance truly is bliss.

That’s all. We learn every day, don’t we?
