How about an update out of the blue? It’s been a while – several weeks – and my poor old hand is just about too shaky to work.

A lot has happened in several weeks….

If you’ll remember correctly I was really struggling with nausea and vom. It had been nearly 3 months since I had eaten anything substantive, nothing tasted good, and everything came back.

I stayed in the hospital for a week to no avail and came home as sick as I’d gone in. We were frustrated and found ourselves back there a couple of weeks later…and finally got plenty of tests.

They tested everything from spine to head to esophageal to gastric and we tried every nausea med anybody possibly knew.

One worked great but was hospital- only and could only be administered by IV (which means I couldn’t take it home). So they found me a reasonable knockoff that seems to be working effectively.

I have been able to eat, finally taste food again, and not throw up immediately after. So life has been improving ever so slightly, and I’m glad about that.

Electric Wheels

Yes! I did get new Electric Wheels. I haven’t had the ability to use them yet because my core muscles are just not strong enough to hold me up. I’m working on that.

My heart hurts a little because I can’t do it, but I just can’t do it YET. I want to keep fighting for it. I understand that a week in the bed means a month in physical therapy, and I am super behind the eight ball.

One Year

It’s coming up on one year that I was diagnosed with glioblastoma terminal brain cancer then had brain surgery. One year!

In one year’s time so much has changed, and I’ve been loved so much by so many and supported in ways I can hardly fathom.

Thank you. I love y’all.

More to come…
