Things I learned today…
I found out I was pregnant for the first time on July 9, 2001. Now Blake is 19 years old, independent, 6’3″ tall, tattooed, smart, and every bit as loved now as he was INSTANTLY on that day way back then.
When it storms, you should take a nap or be snuggled up in a blanket with coffee (or wine) and a book at the very least.
People with ADD do not like to wait in the Chik-Fil-A drive-thru line.
The liquor-to-[insert any other drink here including water] ratio in this house is severely disproportionate.
That reminds me…I have a Pinterest board dedicated to beverages, and I need to start trying some new things.
Brady is going to a Cow Horse Show tomorrow and will compete. The kicker is, she has no earthly idea what happens at a Cow Horse Show, what to do, or how to do it. Pray she’s brave, open-minded, and has a good spirit. Good life lessons!
“If there’s a bustle in your hedgerow, don’t be alarmed now. It’s just a spring clean for the May Queen.” That’s a line from Stairway to Heaven (here at 4:41). Interpreters of lyrics point out that a “hedgerow” is just that – a row of shrubs – and a “bustle” is a shaking, agitating, or rustling of the bushes. Some say “May Queen” is an occult reference. Perhaps she was a goddess or maiden chosen from the village to bring change, an awakening, and new beginnings. Considering all that, the line could mean that if your world is shaken up, if you’re stirred from within, the old stuff is being parsed out to make way for progress. There are other lyrics analysts that say it’s a reference to a young girl’s menstrual cycle starting, a kind of coming of age. What do you think?

We found some new, ready-made tamales at the grocery store that are really good. We are having leftover tacos, and I’m steaming up some of those. I went by Blue Agave and got some more cheese dip, salsa, and guacamole…and they gave me a side of sauce to go on top of my store-bought tamales. heh. Making tamales from scratch is on my bucket list.
