Things I learned today…
I did not work today. Not once.
We had a great time at the farmer’s market. Keith bought peaches. We we got to see some of our favorite folks today.
The food at Home Place Pastures is delicious! Real food. It was rustic, we sat outside, a breeze was blowing, blues was playing…so good!
The casinos in Tunica have changed so drastically, but then…it’s been TWENTY YEARS since we were there. We were shocked at the changes. Harrah’s, what was once next to Sam’s Town, has been demolished. It’s a pile of rubble. Sam’s Town doesn’t have its spark. It seemed sort of sad to us.
We still have a spark, though! We saw the spot where Keith first told me he loved me. I met him at Sam’s Town (we both worked there) 25 years ago this September. And right then, I knew he was The One.
I will forever be in love with the Mississippi River. It is vast and truly mighty. It rolls and twists and swirls. I love its grandeur and its power. It was a treat to see it today.
Today made me miss the days when I had a job that I left and didn’t think about again until I was back the next work day at 8:00 am. I think I can have that back if I work to create it.
Got to throw some dice! I’m a Craps player, and it’s so fun! Walked away down a little money, but it was worth the good time.
Both the dregs of humanity and the wealthy sit alongside each other at the casino, and nobody bats an eye. Black, white, skinny, fat, old, young, short, tall, preppy, skanky…anything goes and nobody gives a single damn.
In all our years together, Keith and I always have the best time. Always. We laugh, we have great memories, we people watch, we are constantly joking and talking trash, we come up with all kinds of stupid stuff to giggle about, we talk, we figure things out, we talk to people. I had THE BEST time with him today.
We left the house today headed to the farmer’s market and ended up all over the place. I hope we take off headed goodness-knows-where again soon.
That’s all. We learn everyday, don’t we?
