Counting The Minutes

I’m tired. Really tired. Are y’all? I never want to wish my life away at all, and I try not to want time to hurry up, but I’m ready for this break.

There will be no girlbossing starting Friday. I anticipate only girlresting, girlreading, and of course, some girldrinking. I’ve got mimosa and spiked hot chocolate fixings stocked and ready. (You have to plan for these things.) I’m even looking forward to some girlcooking.

I know I’ll have to work during the break, and I’m ok with that. I’ll get to work wearing pj’s, hopefully, with my hair sticking up while sipping mimosas (plural). I’ve got decisions to make and tasks to complete, but I’m confident that will all happen without stress and not under duress, as sometimes is the case. I’ll set a few realistic goals (with my new gel pens), smash those (leisurely), and try to do a few things to get ahead (from my chair).

Over there, though…hiding behind the Christmas tree…peeping with one eye…is Busy. Hiding with him are Stress, Places To Go, and Unexpected Demands. I can’t let them get me. They are sneaky, will pop up out of nowhere, and will derail my girlvibing. I must be vigilant.

I strongly believe we create our lives and are solely responsible for how we deal with what comes our way that we DIDN’T create. It’s my goal, starting Friday, to create some opportunities for peace, open up some space for joy, and clear out some mental and emotional clutter. And I’m bracing myself for responding to the unknown stuff that’s sure to pop up and try to steamroll my efforts.

It’s my prayer that you have some downtime coming up, too. Let’s count the minutes together until girlbossing can hit the bench and girlrelaxing can suit up.
